This Role

The Senior Brewer is a manager-level position who will report to the Lead Brewer and Head Brewer while directly managing Brewers and Assistant Brewers. In addition to the brewing production duties listed below, the Senior Brewer will include coordination between the Brew-team, Packaging and Sales & Marketing departments. In addition to brewing exceptional beer, responsibilities include creative contributions and implementing best-practices solutions to better the product and processes. The Senior Brewer may be required to periodically attend festivals and events on behalf of the company and in doing so must behave as an ambassador of Basqueland Brewing.

What You Will Do

_ Brewhouse and cellaring duties
_ Operate the brewhouse
_ Dry-hops
_ Operate the centrifuge
_ Tank CIPs
_ Monitor fermentations
_ Cropping
_ Basic QA/QC analysis: Measure CO2/DO2, Cell counts, viabilities, gravities, pH measurement
_ Data recording
_ Continuous improvement projects

Skills and experience

_ At least 3 years of experience working in a Brewing role in a fast-growing brewery.
_ A degree in biological or chemical science preferred.
_ IBD Diploma in Brewing qualification or similar is a strong advantage.
_ Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of the brewing process.
_ Possibility of working flexibly to achieve production goals (AM/PM shifts, Weekend shifts).
_ A good history of scrupulous data collection and record-keeping.
_ Demonstrated understanding of good QA/QC practice.
_ Some experience in laboratory operations is a plus
_ Must possess a passion for the Brewing Industry.
_ Ability of speaking a fluent Spanish is a plus but not strictly necessary.

Compensation

Compensation will be addressed in the interview process based on the applicant’s experience relative to the open position.
